When the alleged Seal Beach gunman walked into Salon Meritage, his primary target was his ex-wife Michelle Marie Fournier, a licensed cosmetologist and stylist, the Orange County district attorney said Friday.
Fournier and suspect Scott Dekraai had divorced in 2007 but were locked in a vicious custody battle for their 8-year-old son.
Fournier was among the eight shot to death Wednesday at close range.

“This was a senseless murder spree,” said Dist. Atty. Tony Rackauckas, fighting back tears at a news conference. “While Dekraai rampaged through the hair salon shooting at innocent victims, the son he professed to love was sitting in the principal’s office … waiting for his mom or dad to pick him up.
“That little boy is a victim,” Rackauckas said. “Now, his mother has been murdered and he is going to grow up knowing that his dad is a mass murderer. So what kind of sick, twisted fatherly love might that be?”
